August All Year Long

August, in the West Village, is one of my favorite restaurants. The signature cocktails are delicious, I suggest you try "My Best Friends Girlfriend"; just the cocktail! Chef Jordan Frosolone focuses on seasonal and local ingredients to make pan-European cuisine. The majority of seats in the restaurant are in the back which is in an enclosed garden room. It serves for a very romantic atmosphere. My favorite item on the menu is the Tarte Flambe which is a flat bread cooked in their stone oven topped with onion, bacon tart and creme fraiche. If you can't make it for dinner, definitely stop by the bar and have a drink!

Burberry Obsessed

Winter is around the corner and I have been scoping out coats for a while now...yes I like to plan ahead. I am head over heals for the current Burberry collection of coats this season which you can check out at the Burberry site. Though I am crazy about many of them, they are not all practical for everyday wear. This is the coat that I feel is the most versitile and beautiful. It is approriate for everyday use, and evening. I did make a trip to Bloomingdales just to try it on, and it feels like heaven.

The Chubby Stick

Who knows what thoughts went through your head when you read that title. Get your head out of the gutter because I am talking about lip stick. Clinique reminds me of middle school and I haven't used it since, until I discovered the Chubby Stick. I NEVER wear lipstick but since this little tool has come in to my life I have been wearing it everyday, and I have to say, I like the way it makes me feel!

Bow-Tie Blouses

There are quite a few trends for this fall that I like, but one that i LOVE is the bow-tie blouse. There is nothing better than finding out that your favorite shirt, which you have been wearing for three years, is now the hottest look of the season! OH DESERT BOOT HOW I LOVE THE

Desert boots have been in men's fashion for a while now. It is a trend that my husband actually dove in to fairly fast, which is unusual for him. The greatest thing about fashion today is that many things are gender neutral. When I discovered these desert boots for women at Madewell I was in love. They thoughfully named it the dustbowl boot.

They come in three beautiful colors. Madewell has many impressive shoes in their collection right now so I persuade you to check it out! Have I mentioned that Madewell is my favorite store?

PURE YOGA

Though I am sure this is old news to some, it is new, great news, to me! I have been walking by Pure Yoga for over 2 years now just about everyday. I have always been captivated by its beauty, which stands out even more because it’s placed next to a run down PC Richards & Son. Since my husband and I are moving back to the UES it was time to begin my gym search. I HATE going to the gym, always have. I try to force myself to go regularly because I know it is good for me. I tend to like outdoor activities best, but Manhattan winters do not always allow this. Yoga has always been very enjoyable for me on many levels. I decided to finally step in to Pure Yoga and I was very impressed! The facilities are beautifully serene and peaceful! They offer many more types of Yoga than I even though existed. I am so pumped to try out my first hot yoga class this evening. I definitely recommend checking it out if you like yoga. You will be stunned at the ambiance that this place offers. I have never been this excited about exercise in my life!

SHOW ME THE BUBBLY

I only know one person who enjoys champagne more than me, so when I discovered that there are bars that specialize in serving bubbly you can imagine how thrilled I was. The Bubble Lounge in Tribeca, though on the pricier side, is definitely worth the extra pennies (or dollars…).  Champagne and champagne specialty cocktails start around $16. Besides the cool atmosphere and awesome drinks, what I enjoyed most about this spot was the wide clientele. It serves a great place to people watch…you can watched a 50 something year old man dancing by his lonesome (not really a dancing type of place, but apparently can be) or the 40 something bachelor who buys a whole bottle of expensive champagne in hopes of meeting a woman to share it with, or the 20 something girls dressed to the nines. I highly recommend checking it out; you might even pop by after dining at Max J

MAX

My new favorite restaurant, which I can't get enough of! Italian food to die for! I can honestly say that they are the first that has made lasagna better than my Nanna. Very inexpensive, with great drinks, especially if you like prosecco, and an incredibly romantic atmosphere. http://www.max-ny.com/. Max has two locations, one in East Village and one in Tribeca. I have only frequented the Tribeca local but I am sure East Village is just as amazing!

I discovered Heather’s Jewelry line at Michael Fina on 5^th avenue a couple weekends ago. Each piece is personally customized by hand. You can choose from green, gold, white or rose in 14k or sterling silver, mix ‘em up I say and the more the merrier! All metals used are also 100% recycled!
